GradeCity ("the app") shows public-data quality-of-life scores for US ZIP codes. This policy explains what information the app uses and what it does with it.
If you grant permission, the app uses your device's current location to automatically show the ZIP code you're currently in. This location is processed entirely on your device to find the nearest matching ZIP code — it is never transmitted to, stored on, or logged by any server. You can decline location access and still use the app by searching for a ZIP code or city name instead.
If you tap the "+" button to save a ZIP code, that ZIP code is stored only in local storage on your own device. It is never sent to or stored on any server, and is not accessible to anyone else. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
The ZIP-level scores and statistics shown in the app are built from public datasets, including the US Census Bureau, CDC PLACES, FEMA National Risk Index, PRISM Climate Group, and EPA Air Quality System. This data describes places, not people, and contains no personal information about you or any other individual.
The app's content is served over the internet via standard web hosting infrastructure, which may log basic technical information common to any website request (such as IP address and timestamp) for security and reliability purposes, consistent with typical web server operation. This data is not used to identify individuals or build profiles.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised "Last updated" date.
Questions about this policy can be sent to the developer via the contact information listed on the app's App Store page.
